Movie Mogul.co.uk For the Love of Film Blog

...finally, as things calm down after a hectic fortnight, guest Blogger Lara Cowan gives us a delicious aftertaste of Cannes....

Another year, another Cannes opens and closes... and, in a cute irony,
there was actually a film playing called 'Another Year'.

Blonde, young and dedicated to film, the Movie Mogul promotions team
arrived in Cannes this year.  My younger sister, Molly Cowan with Emma Nettleton
and I (Lara Cowan) arrived - scouting young energetic producers and
promoting the online film festival that is Movie Mogul.co.uk

Cate Blanchett and Russell Crowe had hit the red carpet before we arrived, as the
new Ridley Scott film 'Robin Hood' opened the 63rd Cannes Film Festival.

Our "work" starts out meeting Superman, Dean Cain, on the Pegasus
Super Yacht at the 'Buy a Movie Role' party. Tim Burke and I co hosted
this do with Quintessentially raising funds by auctioning film roles.
It took 10 minutes before I had 15,000 Euros signed off! Here began the
extraordinary week of business card exchange, meeting makers, stars
and financiers.

Met and swooned Jon (whose surname shall be protected) who happened to
have set up a $100M film fund. Met and loved everyone.

Meanwhile Julia Jones the Movie Mogul PR guru and judge, danced poolside with the
beautiful stars (new and old, Carey Mulligan, Susan Sarandon and
Micheal Douglas among them) of Oliver Stone's much-anticipated Wall
Street sequel, Money Never Sleeps.

Croissette crawling, cameras doing their super star mawling!

Interlude from maddess for a boat ride with Ben to Fredericks for
lunch on the islands.
Champagne nights at The Carlton with Tim, Nick and Melvin (star boys!
Great night!) and some rather beautiful girls with heels sculptured as
the Eiffell Tower in Diamonds.

Meetings at The Grand...

Future Films thank you Carola?Century Club amazing gig!!?.Villa
Parties. Final Draft, Michael Cowan party. I am spinning in the
memories, (post this weekend 30th birthday party in Zurich as well this is all
pretty hard to put together!)

Taxi to VIP room in our best gowns, Chopard had naturally chosen Cannes
and its prestigious Film Festival, of which it is both official
partner and designer of the Palme d'Or, as the ideal setting in which
to celebrate its 150th anniversary with a memorable party at the VIP
Room and an exceptional concert by Lionel Richie. A huge number of
stars joined us at the party including Eva Herzigova, Jacky Ickx,
Princess Charlotte Casiraghi with Margherita Missoni, Tatiana Santo
Domingo and Francesca Versace, French actresses Marion Cotillard,
Emmanuelle Béart, Clotilde Coureau and Nora Arnezeder, English actress
and this year's jury member Kate Beckinsale, along with Naomi Watts,
Meg Ryan, Billy Zane and David Furnish, fashion models Dree Hemingway,
Tori Praver, Naomi Campbell and Eugenia Silva, producer Harvey
Weinstein, dancer Eleonora Abbagnato, the Hilton family, Lindsay
Lohan, and the evening's Emcee, Myleene Klass.
Yes, Escape to Villa Fetiveau for some rosé, outstanding views, and
TLC. (Thank you Mark. )

To everyone we met?if we haven?t seen you again yet?. see you soon!
