Background: Film Publicist

Julia Jones is film publicist with a track record that spans twenty-three years in the film PR arena.  As Senior Vice President with top international PR agency DDA, she ran the UK office out of London and oversaw all unit publicity operations.  Keen to focus her specific interest in film production, Julia launched JJPR in January 2006 and since then has handled unit publicity on Blitz for Lionsgate, Dorian Gray and St Trinian’s II:  The Legend of Fritton’s Gold for Ealing Studios; Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll starring Andy Serkis for producer Damian Jones, Noel Clarke’s Adulthood, Penelope starring Christina Ricci and James McAvoy, Frank Oz’s Death at a Funeral, Big Nothing starring David Schwimmer and Simon Pegg; and Mutant Chronicles starring Thomas Jane, John Malkovich and Ron Perlman.

After starting her media career under Josephine Hart (Damage, Sin) at Haymarket Publishing in the 1980s, Julia’s film PR apprenticeship followed with DDA. She spent five years with Carolyn Jardine Publicity representing clients such as Working Title and Film Four International as well as holding senior PR positions with Hemdale and Granada International.   Returning to DDA in 1993 to create a successful TV and corporate PR division, Julia went on to head up  DDA’s film production division, with selected credits including The Wedding Date, Millions, Lord of War, The Libertine, Ladies in Lavender, Around the World in 80 Days, Last Orders, Saving Grace, Maybe Baby, Waking Ned, Shooting Fish, This Year’s Love, Hackers and Rosanna’s Grave.
